We've always believed banking should feel local. Oak Bank was founded to give Fitchburg a bank that's invested in the people, businesses, and neighborhoods that make this community special.
When Bob Gorsuch opened Oak Bank in 2000, he had a simple goal: build a bank where people come first. A place where clients know their banker, decisions stay local, and relationships matter more than transactions.
Some of our clients have been with us since the day we opened. Others are just getting started. Either way, they find the same thing when they walk through our doors: people who genuinely care.

Every year, our team volunteers, sponsors local events, and supports more than 125 nonprofit organizations across Fitchburg and Dane County. It’s not an initiative. It's just who we are, and who we’ve always been.
Our Founder
When Robert “Bob” Gorsuch founded Oak Bank in 2000, he wasn't trying to build the biggest bank in town. He wanted to build one people genuinely enjoyed doing business with.
More than 25 years later, that philosophy still shapes everything we do. Bob has spent his career helping businesses grow, families buy homes, and communities thrive. His leadership has earned statewide recognition, including Community Banker of the Year, Madison Marketing Executive of the Year, Madison Philanthropist of the Year, and Fitchburg Hometown Hero. In 2024, Wisconsin Bankers Association honored Bob for reaching 60 years in banking – a milestone achieved by only a select few in the state.
But ask Bob what he's most proud of, and he won’t mention the awards. He'll tell you it's the relationships Oak Bank has built over the years.
