QuickBooks Users - Upgrade

QuickBooks Users

If you use a third party accounting system like QuickBooks, Quicken, Credit Karma or other finance software, you will need to plan ahead for the upgrade.

You should generate a data file backup and a final transaction download at least a week before the upgrade occurs on October 7.

Intuit has confirmed that they will need up to five business days to process the required changes around the upgrade. Other software providers may require the same. During this period, you may:

  • Continue to see two Oak Bank connections in QuickBooks.
  • Experience intermittent issues when attempting to connect to your accounts.

NOTE: If Express WebConnect is not working in OFX, Intuit recommends using the WebConnect (.qbo) file import method. This allows you to keep your account activity updated while aggregation updates are in progress.

Download a .qbo File
  • Log into Oak Bank's online banking.
  • Go to Accounts > Download.
  • Select the account you want to download.
  • Choose your date range.
  • Select Quicken or QuickBooks as the file type.
  • Download the .qbo file.
Import a .qbo File
  • Go to the Banking menu.
  • Select Upload transactions or Link account.
  • Click Browse, then locate your downloaded .qbo file.
  • Select the file and click Open.
  • Follow the prompts to upload and categorize your transactions.

This will help you successfully import your bank activity into QuickBooks for review and reconciliation.

Connect Accounts to QuickBooks
  • Log into Quickbooks or Quicken.
  • Select the Accounting option.
  • Click the Connect account button.
  • Type "Oak Bank" in the Search by name or sign-in URL field.
  • Find and select Oak Bank from the list of results.
  • Sign in to the account by entering your Oak Bank Username and Password. Click Continue.
  • Select the Account Type dropdown and click on the account you wish to connect.
  • Select the desired transaction history date range (default is the current year). Click the Connect button.
  • Click Done.
  • Click the Go to your transactions button.
  • Select the account to view your transactions.
Duplicate Transactions

Once Express WebConnect is restored, customers may see duplicate transactions. This is a one‑time occurrence caused by Intuit’s aggregation refresh. To prevent or resolve duplicates, customers should:

  • Carefully review and reconcile transactions.
  • Ensure their account setup in QuickBooks or Quicken is correct.
